Roland Challis … A distinguished journalist and writer, lived a full and active life, often at the centre of major news stories and world events.  Living and travelling all over the globe, he immersed himself in the cultures and people he encountered.   In retirement, his close scrutiny of current and international affairs continued.  But he also actively pursued his interests in arts, literature and music, helping to set up the Salisbury Arts Centre and a number of poetry groups.  He loved his food and a glass of wine. He loved Salisbury, its Cathedral and organ, the rolling local countryside and especially the view from Corydon, his home in Coombe Bissett.
